    But I got Flash 5... !?!?!?!

    Hi all

    I not been here for ages! So long I nearly forgot URL sorry for disrespect.

    Anyway I am back and back to re-learning FLASH yet again.. Merely to make my own like movies.

    Anyway I bought loads books back in the days that are all for FLASH 5 and I would still like to use them as they cost alot and I can't afford anymore .

    Simply what I am asking is can I still read my Flash 5 books to learn FLASH while using FLASH MX or should I just stick with FLASH 5 and ignore MX?

    Does MX change much from Flash 5?

    Should I just install FLASH 5 and use that with my books or will install Flash MX and using my books be fine?

    Depends what your looking foward to do. If you want all these new fancy actionscript features, yea, get a new MX book to learn them. If your focusing mainly on animation you can stick with those Flash 5 books, not much is new for that. And Flash MX is awesome, it will make alot of things easier to do.

    Action Script is to make games correct me if I am wrong?

    I basicly like to create Websites and mainly animations like cartoons.. urmm cloest example I can pick is for example Ninjai.


    Now should I use MX and my books?
    or
    Flash 5 and my books?

    Will I need anything else?

    Great stuff.
    - no, actionscript will help you alot, you can design alot more interactive webpages using actionscript vs basic design only.

    - Flash 5 will work good for what you wanna do, what you explained sounded very basic, nothing Flash 5 cant do.

    hmmmmmm

    So if I don't learn action script can I do none of the cool stuff flash can do?

    Can I still install Flash MX and follow my BOOk with out getting lost that they are 2 diffrent versions?
