    navigate movie from MC?

    ok, i think this is a simple question, just cant seem to make it work.
    i have a movie thats only two frames, on frame one i have an MC that goes about 200 frames, at the end of that MC i want it to jump to frame 2 of the movie but it will only go to frame 2 of the MC.
    how do i accomplish this?
    sorry for the stupid question.

    ahhh... hmmm.

    Inside your movieClip that you have on frame 1. place this action at the very end of it...

    _root.gotoAndStop(2);

    I'm a little confused about what you have going on there but, like you said... simple question and thats the simple answer

    ah, root, of course. thanks.

    hah, as for whats going on. its just a few long MC's that instead of stringing together in one long movie i put into individual frames, so its easier to work with.
    or at least it seems that way.

    The above will work, but you should get used to using frame labels, rather than frame numbers, which is error prone, as I explained in this thread:

    http://www.flashkit.com/board/showth...hreadid=458816

    If you use frame numbers, it's a cumulative frame number of all frames in all scenes preceding the targeted frame. In your case, you only had 2 frames, so no problem. But if you had had a 4 frames preloader scene before your main scene, you would of had to target frame 6 and not frame 2... (4+2 = 6).
    Thus...

    _root.gotoAndStop(6); to move the main timeline to frame 2 of your main scene. Frames labels are much better!
