    Banner sizes

    Hi peoplez,

I'm creating a site for a real estate office. Being that my wife works there, she got me the dimensions for the banners ads, who in turn were provided by her manager. I don't remember what they were out of the top of my head but something didn't seem right; they looked almost as big as the site!
See page layout, the colored boxes represent banner space...

Is there a site(s) that provide standard banner sizes? Clients would go crazy if they ever knew these are the banners they're getting!
Of course I'm the man for the job! What is the job, by the way?

    Hey there aero,

    Isn't the standard size 468x60, x to y?

Of course, that's just for header banners, and that's not religiously followed (note the FK policy on banners ). You could also do the skycraper (tall, on the side) if that fit's better - like where you have those blocked out colored squares in the link page.

    "E aÃ* beleza?"

468 x 60 was the only one out of the top of my head too, but those are the ones on top of the page. Maybe creativepublic has something, i'll check there.

My local paper has some banners on the right side which look like a nice, unintrusive size...

The standard sizes are as follows...

    Rectangles and Pop-Ups
    300 x 250 - (Medium Rectangle)
    250 x 250 - (Square Pop-Up)
    240 x 400 - (Vertical Rectangle)
    336 x 280 - (Large Rectangle)
    180 x 150 - (Rectangle)

    Banners and Buttons
    468 x 60 - (Full Banner)
    234 x 60 - (Half Banner)
    88 x 31 - (Micro Bar)
    120 x 90 - (Button 1)
    120 x 60 - (Button 2)
    120 x 240 - (Vertical Banner)
    125 x 125 - (Square Button)
    728 x 90 - (Leaderboard)

    Skyscrapers
    160 x 600 - (Wide Skyscraper)
    120 x 600 - (Skyscraper)

(The ones in bold are the optimal sizes to use.)

Check here for some great information, and be sure to click the link for "Universal Ad Package, a set of four ad sizes" in the main body of the page.

Unbreakable code, as I don't think that aero has realized that it's portuguese yet.

How bad can it be? - that bad.
