    a bunch of display issues

hey everyone - i've got some problems going on, and it could be due to a number of things, but I'm not sure what or where to go with it. In my movie I have an MC containing a scrollpane on one end. When the user makes a certain selection, the MC slides over to display the end with the scrollpane. This scrollpane gets set with an mc that has static text, dynamic text, combo boxes, input fields, and a submit button. This looks fine when I preview in flash, but when I view it on the site, everything is just...screwy.

None of the static text shows up, the text in the submit button doesn't show up, and in the drop downs, at first you can only see the arrow. If you click it, you can read the selections, but then when you choose one, you can't read it in the box. I'm sure this has something to do with either the fact that it's animated and/or that it's in a scrollpane, but what should I do?

I installed the outlines of the font, but that didn't fix anything.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Tell me something... Assuming you have the latest browser player plugins, have you tested this online? If you do, and as I think it will, it does properly work, then you need to update your test and standalone players.

oldnewbie - thanks for your reply. it's not a standalone issue, as it happens when it's online, not in the standalone (or at least this is what i thought when I wrote the post) but i did some more research, and I realized that it's not a standalone vs. browser issue....it's only happening when I do the entire site together. This movie is called in a main movie via attachMovie. If I view this one (called community) in standalone, or publish it and view it in a browser, there's no problem. But when I start through main.swf and have it attach community, I have those issues that I described regardless of whether it's in the standalone or online.

    Any more ideas?

okay...odd. it appears to be some sort of font issue combined with a components issue. I was using _typewriter, so if I change it to anything else, other than those three (_typewriter, _sans, _serif) it works just fine. However, there's still a problem with the components (their text still doesn't show). So, after some more testing I found out that I have no problems doing it exactly in the manner I was doing everything, if the MC that attaches to the scrollpane doesn't have components, but it also occurs regardless of whether I attach it to my scrollpane or not. It happens if I use any MCs with components in my movie. I even removed the animation to be sure. Right now, I just placed the MC i was working with directly on the root of Community, with no animations occurring. As long as the components are in it, there are font issues. Could this have anything to do with my main movie? i realized that i misspoke in my first post when i said that i use attachmove to attach Community to Main..I use loadMovie.
