They toast them in the big cities too, at those little street carts. Split the bun and place it on the grill. For hamburgers and the like as well...

dude, there's a place off Cottman Ave... Jim's Steaks. I think that's the name. it's a grey and silver building around the corner of Cottman and Roosevelt or go near the DSCP and hit a place called Larry's Pizza and Subs. Dude, they got a buffalo chicken philly... ohmygoodness it's delicious

god I hate cheese whiz on my philly. same for Gino's... way overrated to me.

As I remember, Jim's is actually on South St, and down on 9th and Passyunk there are the better two, Geno's and Pat's.

Help me. I think I'm having a coronary just thinking about 'em.

Oh come on Cane, can't you just stroll down to the beach there in Sao Paulo and grab yourself a classic Philly cheese steak?

The beach menu in Brazil doesn't waver too much from 'fried things with cheese' and sweet corn (and chilly brew).

    Here comes coronary #2.

Going down into S. Philly and getting loaded in a cozy bar and then staggering out to get steaks - good times. Especially when they want your order yesterday and your sitting there like, erm, er, that's not cheez whiz is it?

yeah, there's a Jim's on South Street, near Brother's Pizza. I like the new(er) one over on Cottman though.
