Newbie: need help with srollable text
OK I'm new to flash and I'm doing a site for someone. I've almost finished the introduction sequence (30 seconds 150k) and they now want scrolling text. Does anyone know how to have text scrolling in a text box using buttons to scroll the text up or down?
Here's a link to an example of how the intro sequence is looking so far and you'll get an idea what I mean about the text:
http://www.kroc.net/interaction/interaction.htm
I haven't put a loading sequence on it yet but it's not too big so there will be a white screen for a few seconds. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have checked this site and found some examples but I'm unsure how to incoporate them into mine. I can post a link to the file if anyone can help or maybe chat with msn messenger.
Cheers in advance!!!

re
thanks for the quick response - i've downloaded your file and i think i'll be able to relate it to what i'm doing. only problem is they don't have the scroll bit in the middle as in my above example to hold and move up and down. this looks good on mine but may proove to be complicated - what do you think?
btw
any comments/critisisms on my animation so far are also appreciated even if they are negative.

you could use a scrollbar component and skin it to your design,
check the Help for Customizing component skins,
and the link for an example and zip file,
http://www.macromedia.com/support/fl...ng_text_mx.htm
imho .. animation is great as long as it does not distract from the content,
intros are soo "90's"...............

re
cheers dawg!!!
when you say 'skin it to my design' - do you mean go into the'component skins' bit in the library and change the graphics there?

you can alter the look by modifying the skins of the components,
http://www.macromedia.com/support/fl...g_forms12.html
or by altering properties with a FStyleFormat(),
