    flash rts

I made the basic framework for a real time strategy game so far in flash I figure i'd post if anyone wants to give me some feedback on it.

    http://24.78.10.153/publish/rts.html

Can move units and generate more with the add unit button.

The minimap keeps track of em
Units can't enter the blue squares
If units get clsoe to each other they'll fire at each other.
Atm if a unit gets hit it loses 100% health and dies.

It should scale well and not lag even with lots of units on the screen.

if it does not say Gentoo/Linux at the bottom of my webserver, then I'm in windows and only my windows files are accessable, so check back later.

    should have remembered..

I actually changed this recently and because the enemy detection function is coded pretty poorly at the moment it will begin to lag once a lot of tanks are on the screen ;P

hopefully i'll fix that again soon

you can get the fla at:

You also need to get the xml document for it to read the map for, its called forest1.xml in same dir as above (hehe i modified the xml file for my online chat but too lazy to change filename)

What kind of unit control do you plan for this? Myth style (Spacebar-stop, Crtl+click on enemy-attack, mouse click-move, G-Guard, etc.) or StarCraft/Warcraft/Age of Empires style (command card with attack, stop, patrol, move, guard, and other buttons...then when you click on a unit production facility there are buttons for building units)? Or a custom control system? . I also suggest an A* implementation.

good work! Add some more art also (I get this strange feeling that the FPS will drop as more art is added, plus the AI, etc.)
