i'm afraid i don't quite understand your question. the image is always going to stay in place unless you place either a remove action, or fade it out /move it out of sight.
if you've only applied a fade in effect, it'll stay there forever
however, perhaps your movie is looping? rightclick into the top row of the timeline, and place a stop action at the end of the movie, so the image will only fade in once.
