What's that font? Identifying a font.

I see plenty of threads asking for identification of different fonts.

For a while, I've been recommending www.whatthefont.com from www.myfonts.com, however, I thought I'd share with you the new Linotype font identifier:
    http://www.fontexplorer.com/FontStor...UserTemplate/6

Contrary to www.whatthefont.com this one doesn't work by uploading images. The system 'asks' you several questions to narrow down your search. It seems to work pretty well, although I believe www.whatthefont.com may have a larger selection of fonts used in the system, therefore providing more accurate results. In any case, this is another choice for you to consider when trying to id a font.

Yet another choice would be http://www.identifont.com/ which works in the same fashion as the Linotype system, probably retrieving results from a different library of fonts. The system seems identical to the Linotype (probably shared between both companies).

If nothing else works, the forums at FK are always a good choice and there is of course the option of newsgroups:

    Alt.binaries.font
    Alt.binaries.fonts
    comp.fonts

    Have fun!

It sorta works like Google- except you type a font name into the text bar
