guess it's just a photoshop sequence then imported into flash.

lol what an answer. Very true though.
I would also assume it was a series of images produced in photoshop. Don't think it would be worth useing a proper 3d program. But I do know that they use lightwave 3d.

But there must be a special program for that effect-these kind of button effects or melting etc... Because they're all in the same style...
If in photoshop, how ?

One of the things they did was use Photoshop's Pillow Emboss style for the buttons.

If I remember right....it was done in after effects and imported in. Try searching the cool sites board for both this site and the halolounge site.....you should get your answer.

A note for a few posts up: pillow emboss already comes with photoshop (versions 6 and up I think). For an added chrome technique, which is fairly quick, create manual bevels and then use curves on them. For more info or a sample, email me: theblackfriar@hotmail.com

I think it's more the whole animation thisng smaugs trying to get rather than just how each of the indicvidual frames might be created.
It either going to be done in a 3d prog, or animated as a series of images produced in photoshop.
