    Mask text not displaying correctly.

    Hi there,

I've create a masked text with a blue background and a glint animating in between. When I play the movieclip in the library it shows correctly. You'll see my name in blue with a 50% transparant glint going across, but when I play in test or swf,it only shows the blue box and glint going across. What happened to the masked text?
I've never experienced this problem before, so if there's something new about this please let me know. Thanx.

    Have you embedded the font?

Text should be dynamic, and to embed the font, hit the Character tab in the textfield's properties, and select Embed All...

If the text is static text, it should work as is!

OMG sorry oldnewbie! Just noticed my previous font/style was deleted so flash used its own device fonts. So I had to delete the text and redo with one that I have. Thanx though, I do appreciate it.

No, that honestly did not work. It was the font it was using, I did not have it in my windows>fonts folder. So i had to delete the text and redo it, got it.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! If it had been dynamic... Under a mask or in a tween the font must be manually embedded to work. Flash automatically embeds MOST static font outlines!
