    The Hardest Thing In The World!!!

    Naming a company!!.....

    I work for a small (7 people) television post production company in lil'ol New Zealand. We have been wanting a new name and have been searching and suggesting ideas for about 10 months now and I am about to go insane. As-is the boss.

    It needs to be quite funky. But not too full-on. We are small and humble and work hard. TV is our main focus, but we also do CDRoms and Websites on the side.

    If you lot can throw some name ideas up here... you never know, you might just come up with something? I would also be eternally grateful to you.

    I wont go into more details about us. I reckon I will just see what amazing creations get posted...

    PLEASE HELP!
    We have come up with about 1000 really good ones, but not the perfect name as yet.

    thats cool, but not what we are.

    Perhaps this post is a bad idea cause I should really explain more about what we want out of a name.

    Media is more of an Ad Agency name than a post-production name. Its a weird little niche that we are in

    We like things like Velocity, or, Evolution, .... along those lines, but perhaps a little less full-on. The good ones are taken.

    I love "Raydar"... but thats gone.

    arghhhhhhh

    No offense meant so please don't take this badly and get pissed...but if your company is a creative company (TV, Webdesign etc) and you can not come up with a creative name for your company, then that really doesn't say much for your company.....That would be like a graphic designer asking someone else to design their logo.

    Know what I mean?

    Again, no offense, and this is NOT a flame...it is just one mans opinion.

    How about "Seven Extra Minutes" or "Americans and Russians"???

    haa ha!!

    no, no offence at all.

    I was expecting that response sooner or later.

    The thing is, our creative-ness, is in some-ways, the actual problem. We are 7 strong-headed, differently creative people....

    The longer we go on and the more names we come up with, the harder it is getting that "perfect" name.

    We decided at the very beginning when the right name came along, we would all go.. "ahh perfect" and just 'know it was right'.....

    .......still waiting.

    We have a whole scrap-book dedicated to this process and I
    I kid-you-not, we are up to about 1000 names thought of sofar. Its been an interesting but frustrating task :0)

    I quite like SevenExtraMinutes...

    cool.. liking all of these!

    evolution was a good one for us cause it represented what is currently happening to the company. evolving.

    I quite like Evolocity, but it doesnt cut the mustard...
