Output to XML

I'm building an interface, which will run locally, were users will create their own digital cards. They will choose between diferent background images, blocks of text predefined, etc.
What im trying to do is to record, someway, each of those options.

Such as:

user1: background1 / text4
user2: background3 / text2
...

I wonder if XML is the best way to do this.
So that I finally have a one only file (XML / .txt) with the list of all the users and what they chose.

I'm also looking to the same thing.

Is there anyway to get Flash To output to XML?

Or is there some software that will make it possiable??

If anyone can post on this I would be soo happy.
