Official FK 2003 Conference Discussion thread

We'd love to hear your suggestions regarding this year's FK US Conference and Expo. Please feel free to post here; I'll point the coordinators to this thread for their reference.

Details can be found here: http://www.jupiterevents.com/flash/summer03/index.html

Are there any specific sessions you'd like to see on the agenda? Topics of interest?

well i'll be the first to put my 2 cents in.

i am a student in the bay area and would have loved to go to the conf last year, but it was priced way out of my budget.

the first thing i would suggest is having a student price and have students get a letter from their registrar proving that's the case, showing/faxing an ID, or etc.

in medicine, conferences almost always have a student price. maybe that is not standard in this field, but it would certainly encourage a lot more of us to go!

the other suggestion is i would like to see some stuff on flash remoting. i know nothing about this.

Bloody hell. Is the East of the U.S. not good for you?

I would love to go. But being a young age and all, going cross country isn't QUITE the option for me.

East coast. East coast. Pennysylvania. Pennsylvania.

That would be great. Philadelphia in particular.

    Starky,

My main suggestion is going to be the same as last time - Get someone to speak about the business and dealing with clients.

Great, hope to see you there Mark.

I'm not working with the conf this year. I know they're working on the sessions at the moment and it's set for Aug 21-22.

Oh that would be great. I'd make a cameo. As it is in San Jose, I don't think I can swing the cross-country trip this year. Is it ever on the East Coast?

No. NEVER has it been in the east coast. It's either australia, europe, or the west. Bleh!

Ok, So im trying to convince my boss that ME spending a 4 day weekend in San Jose to work on my tan, I mean converse with some of the top heads in the biz, is a good thing. Do we need to rsvp or is it a just show up and byob type event? there was only a link for 'questions' about reservations...

I'd have to agree with Virgo...being young makes it hard to attend these types of things. It seems like all things like this are on the west coast: flashkit conferences, shareholder meetings, etc.

I would love the conference to be on the east coast somewhere, but out west does make sense. Isn't macromedia based in Cali?

Oooo... now Macromedia has it up on their website. More promotion for the event. Make it on the east coast next time, or some where east of the Mississippi... I'd like to be there.

    [edit]

Is this the Macromedia Flash Kit Conference or the FlashKit Conference. Just curious...

Am I allowed to give out 15% off Priority code (is it for anyone to use)?

I think I might try to get sponsored.
The last multimedia event I went to was sad. (umaf)
I would love to talk with people at about the same level as me.
This year looks to be an awesome conference though.
Just the banner looks kinda .... =)

I'm just curious as to what is really going to go one at this conference. Due to some last minute changes I'm not going to be able to make it to FlashForward2003, and am considering this as an alternative. What is the difference between this event and FF2k3? I feel somewhat weary spending the money to go to this when I don't know the quality to expect.
