    logo animation effect

I have a logo of letters I'd like to have "draw" themselves in my intro. I want them to draw themselves from bottom to top, left to right. I think I need to make a shape tween on a layer mask with motion guides, but I'm not sure exactly how to do this to get the effect I want. The letters are M and D in the Refluxed font, the second arch of the M is red while the rest of the logo is black. I figure the whole thing must be masked first, and the mask shape-tweened along a motion guide to gradually reveal the letters, as though they were being drawn by an invisible pen. Any suggestions, hints or tricks are greatly appreciated.

well if you really want it to look drawn, you will have to animate it frame by frame...

if you want it to look kinda cheap you can just have the letters, and have a mask tween from the left of them to on top of them, thus revealing the words as it goes along
