Help me to design photoshop templates

Hi,
i would like to know if any one can help me with details on how to create web templates using photoshop...i know designing but dunno whats the size i should keep for designing templates.....let me know the size n the pixels.

And also how can i generate Html for that....ie ...how can it be converted in to WEBPAGE ...where if the button is clicked its linked to other page....

can some one of u reply me with details and also if possible get me a sample photoshop template...any old file u have got so that it can help me learn
