    Macromedia Flash MX2

Hmmm... 2004 brings us Flash MX2? Now is as good as time as any to start listing some feature requests. I'll compile them and send them off to Macromedia.

Well; I just put it up there for some sort of credibaility. Just needed a couple of people to see it. I know Macromedia and how they would rather not have this stuff out in the open.

Because someone is either breaking their NDA, or has warez, either which should not be posted at FK.

1.) Batch publishing of files, or at least a separate utility which will do that.

2.) Ability to assign frame labels and actions dynamically.

3.) Something similar to Director's movie script so my timeline doesn't get all clogged up.

4.) When using device fonts, render on screen in Flash so I can align them right.

5.) A property/method to detect whether a timeline is playing or stopped. (playstate?).

6.)A more thorough API for making pre-loaders. (Why am I still calculating percent of bytes loaded on my own still?!) While we're at it, let's add kbytesLoaded so I can stop dividing by 1024.

7.) *Insert obligitory comment about XML from gerbick here*

8.) Sorting options in the library.

My 2 comments in bold are going to be key for e-Learning applications.

if they showed it at a conference i'm sure they wouldn't have a problem with it.

when there was a contribute demo that they didn't want released, they made people sign NDA's and dig. cameras weren't allowed into the conference room...probably a little different than this scenario...

    1. 3D file support and z coordinate.
    2. Stereo image rendering style. (for 3d stereo glasses)
    3. VR support
    4. Image editing tools (like photoshop's)
    5. Moddeling tools (like 3ds max's)
    6. Multiuser-on-net support without special scripting (only a checkbox like "multiuser support"

i agree, that's a BIG ONE!! we have hundreds of lessons/learning objects, and it would be nice to publish them all at once.

and while we are on the subject of batch, how about being able set the properties of imported bitmaps globally. we have to double-click every single bitmap, and unmark the allow smoothing checkbox and change the compression to lossless. we have up to 1000 bitmaps per file, so this is quite time consuming.

simple text effects would be nice - i gave up using swish a long time ago because the install/verification is soooo annoying.

Ah, these boys is all swelled up. So this was earlier...getting set to trade. Then, woooaaah differences.
