    Winamp Bitmaps (holographic faceplate)

Is there ANY way to make a transparent bitmap or otherwise make a bitmap see-thru? i want to make a winamp skin and i want some parts of it to be transparent so you could still see windows behind the winamp window or if winamp is the only window open you could see the desktop contenste thru the winamp window. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks alot,
    Martin

You could try .PNG or .GIF - Im pretty sure they support transparency.

    Or try This Link

Kind of uses the Green Screen effect used in most movies.

im using it for winamp skins which can only be BMP files. transparency can be defined but its only 100% alpha or 0% i think.
    Thanks though,
