Looks like more of the same to me. I think the only big leap forward is with the backend.

Billy Bussey's site showed a huge leap forward from his last in its design. This one is just a babystep forward in my opinion from their last site.

I would say this version is only a gradual step over the last site. It packs alot of great design but at the same time falls short of being anything really outstanding. It's also quite generic, will we ever see originality prevail ?

I want to cover all my ass here. I realize, appreciate and respect the fantastic skill of 2A. I see this as constructive criticism not as an insult.

But my God I have gone blind.

The colors are unsettling at best. You simply can't read teal on crimson.

The fonts are so small I can't read them. I really dislike that some text is meant to be read and some isn't. I just don't read any of it to save myself the headache.

There is so much going on that I can't figure out what is what. You need a guide just to map out the sections.

The little arrow things look like buttons but aren't.

The Demo Reel is pretty cool as are the desktops.

And who is the Ninja dude with the ski goggles?

It has some submarine spaceship things . . .

I kinda agree with sirhoff to some extent.

For me as a designer i think it is cool, but my brother didn`t know what the site was for or how to navigate trough it.
But i think the design of the site itself is beatiful but the navigation is a bit TOO cyber if you ask me. Just picturing myself a 80 year old trying to order one of your services hahaha .... well bad example !

My opinion on this.

I was majorly let down. Maybe I expected something different, something more from the new version. I thought the demo reel was nice, but the color scheme was a little off in my opinion. (But then again, my monitor's color adjustment isn't all that great). I was looking at it at 1024x768, and I still had to scroll to see some content (not much).

The graphics were pretty intense though.

What happend to this thread? when i posted this morning it was 1 page long and my post was 3rd down. I then come back and the thread has gone, i come back 30 mins later and its here again and 17 pages long, and my post is on page 16 lol

I'm seriously not though. All I saw when I first went to the site was the same one as before but with a few effects added on and a different colour scheme. It doesn't look like they have progressed as far as everyone had thought they would have, especially with all the creative people that they have now. I think they marketed themselves with the previous site better because the one before was cutting edge, and it had a demo reel that made sense. With this one, a lot of people are capable of doing those kinds of effects, and it just doesnt impress me as much as I thought it would.

Aversion has merged the thread! - Which is a shame, because I started the new thread from seeing the site, this thread started as speculation - my thread was started as a 'cool sites' post - not a speculative one.

Oh well.

The new site is cool, I just think people expected too much from it and are now generally disappointed - I think people were expecting the website to be similar to the new demo reel - oh yes, but it's not, and as such to many, that's not good enough......

It looks like one of the moderators decided to merge the *missing* thread and this one (v4.2advanced.com) together. When that happens the posts from the two threads are sorted in date/time order so things can get a bit jumbled up.

Good point Olli, remember how it was with All Media Studios. The slating that they got ages ago on this board when the new site was realesed and the site was not that bad. It is what happens when things get over hyped. Happens all the times in fims and other places.

Although saying that i do not personaly like the site much anyway lol, but in 2advanced's defence it seems this is the reason most are not impressed.
