Converting swf to fla
Is it true that there are programs that can take an swf and convert it back to Fla? Are there no protections against this?

Yes, so write rude messages as your frame labels!
Seriously, your .swf is no more secure than an HTML page ( or slightly more, as the swf decompilers are not as common as notepad )
Any secure transactions you want to do, do server-side.
And seeing as anyone can view your code if they really want to, why not issue it as open-source, providing a link to the .fla and helping flash knowledge spread?
Hariyemadzisawira nhaka yedu! Down the SCUD and win!
I'm too lazy to read Private Messages.

But there are sites out there that actually sells their codes, wouldn't that make them pretty much obsolete? I didn't realize you can decompile an swf, that's ridiculous T_T

Try this http://www.genable.com/aso/
It won't prevent everything, but it will keep most people out.
Personally, I don't think you should worry about it. Not many people protect their HTML codes.

I know, but what about sites that are well knows, like 2advanced, aren't they afraid of someone just taking their swf and completely ripping it? I know there's a lot of ripoff sites, but I didn't think you can just steal the swf and convert it back to fla so taht all the codes can be seen........... what if you're a good designer, but not so good at coding... people stealing your work and then bashing you... baaaaaaaaad....

"If you want to know how these stuff are made,
please feel free to email me [here], and I'd be
happy to help you out." - best way to avoid people ripping yor site
