No more email in France
Just thought this article was interesting. The French government bans the use of e-mail in gov docs... courriel will be used instead.

ok. I gotta say this...
It's ok when other country's try to maintain their culture and language, but the second french fries become freedom fries - stupid damn name anyway... might as well call them "fattening, but oh so good, deep-fried potatoes - it becomes a global incident?
Either way, could really care less. It'll remain e-mail instead of courriel (a term coined by a professor in Quebec nonetheless) until Microsoft changes it... which from the looks of a lot of the updates expected for the German and other European versions of MS Office... well, no time soon.

Ok, but here they allready name it electronic mail in spanish, its not baned by the gov. tho, thats the diference, i guess since freedom fries they were wanting to do something like this, however i think is pretty stupid making people use that term, having the government tell u that u have to change a link on your page well. . i would really hate that.
Besides when having international visitors on a webpage thats only french it´ll be hard for people to figure that out i guess.

formidable, it is Friday so it is now le begininning of the le "ouiquende".
In fairness, I don't think they are attempting to force the population to stop using Email, they are trying to ensure all government documents etc use the new term, no one will be told to change the email links on their web sites (except the governemnt sites of course)
Ther are laws in France dictationg the amount of English Language music that can be played on Radio stations, they have to play a certain percentage of French Language music.
