Latest Web Project - Stephen Whitely

Howdy,

Here is my latest web project, for Stephen Whitely Custom Carpentry and Woodworking. Please let me know if you find any bugs or problems. As of right now only the BIOGRAPHY and COMPANY sections work. I know its not much but you can see the design and the effects. thanks for the feedback.

I really liked the effect... but the text was a big problem...

I couldn't read it at all because of the small size and font choice.

Maybe try a pixel font or just make it bigger.

Thanks for the heads up, i heard that about the fonts from some other people too. im wondering what it is because that is a pixel font and it is correctly displayed....but ill experiment alittle.

p.s. i am assuming you mean the font for the biography, not the menu.

it's indeed the font for the biography. The menu works fine, and is displayed correctly...

Hey, i tweaked the biography font a bit let me know if its better now. thanks.

a few replies have let me know that i fixed the problem, let this be a lesson in making sure you embed your pixel fonts when working with dynamic text.

well other then biography page i don't see much ((?))
yet its incomplete ? or else there is problems with main page loads the NAV and that it. all white afterwords..

Wow it's cool how do do that line effect BTW can we know

the line effect is very simple:

1. import the picture into flash and create a graphic from it.
2. lock the picture's layer so it doesnt move by accident and then create a new layer above it.
3. in a color of your choice (i choose #666666) outline all of the natural lines in the picture (in my case, edges, cabinet tops, sinks, etc etc.) in the new layer.
4. seperate the outlined pieces onto different layers to mask individual parts(for example: in the biography section i put the chairs first on one layer, then the counter top/stove a layer above, then the light fixture, then the background cabinets).
5. Mask away, then add text and whatever else fits your fancy.

very nice work.. just one thing (dunno why anyone has noticed it) :

the loading font qith the kb and percentage isn't embedded, so it will display default times new roman at 8pt (very noobish like ) on my computer.

otherwise is very sweet. perhaps too much white space at the top ... but well designed and transitioned.

btw, where did you get/buy the pixel font for the biography and company text?? thanks
