    Use the XML load function, this will connect to your asp page, read the stream and then return to you a XML object with all the details.

    Thanks

    Is this an XML stream as in it never stops, or a stream that is displayed as a html page?

    If it is an interactive stream flash will need to use a socket server. When it downloads from a web page it basically expects to find 1 xml file and then finish the connection.

    Thanks

    First thing:

    dataXML.onLoad = convertXML();

    Should be:

    dataXML.onLoad = convertXML;

    Your convertXML function should be:

    function convertXML(success) {

    Then check the success function to know if the page loaded.

    You don't need to do this:

    mainTag = new XML(XmlUrl);
    mainTag.parseXML(XmlUrl);

    The XML has already been parsed for you.

    This will get you the XML (or you can keep using 'this')

    mainTag = this;

    Hope this helps, I have some example routines showing flash and xml here:

    Thanks
