Replacing Text in a Flash Movie

    Hi All,

I have a large number of Flash movies which needs to be translated to a different language. Doing this manually in Flash will take quite a bit of time.

So I was wondering if there is an easier way to do it it by writing a little program to replace the text.

I do have access to both .fla and .swf files for those movies.

I can see the text in the .fla file which I can chage as long as the number of characters are the same. If there are more characters in the replaced text it messup the flash movie.

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    snjw

    Hi,

the swf format is documented, so it is possible to write a program - but it will not be easy

You can load texts from textfiles into dynamic textfields. If the textlength is different you can use scrollbars for the text. For headlines it would be ticky though.
To choose what languaga textfiles to load you can use flags or links on a page before the ral swf loads or add a language variable in the html embed code so you have a html document for each language but use the same Flash file for all.
