eps stands for escalated postscript, its a vector format that is used across all vector softwear such as Adobe illustrator, Macromedia Freehand and Coral Draw.

I use eps for sending my work to printers, that way i know they will be able to open the file,

eps also works on both MAC and PC

its basic a cross over file format.

I Hope this helps, there is more to it and i would be happy answer your questions.

Yeah, you usually would only use it when printing something out professionally.
    maybe.

eps right? well eps' are vector. which means they can be scaled to any size without losing quality. which means they arent really measured in 'pixels'. ya know? so the file sizes are very small.

right now im making a catalog with 60 pages, maybe 15 pictures on each page. thats 900 images roughly. and its like 300megs total

lets just say they are pretty small in file size.
    maybe.

EPS files may contain vector or bitmapped images, so file sizes will vary.
So what becomes of you my love, when they have finally stripped you of the handbags and the gladrags that your granddad had to sweat so you could buy
