    Simple - no more Flashkit!
Think of the bandwidth bills alone!
The theres the cost of what I think is about 6 seperate dedicated servers
Been a while since I was here! Might just stay around this time! | Check out my Deviations - all comments welcomed!

True, both I believe most people would donate between $10-50 a year to keep flashkit open

Thanks for the links, MX. I'll point this out to the people above me.

Please note, that we are by far putting out much more bandwidth than those noted (unless they've grown significantly in the past few months). Flashkit is very expensive to run.

Personally, as long as they pay for the upkeep for Flashkit.com to survive, then they dunt bother me one bit. I just ignore 'em.

If I had to choose between ignoring a few ads on everypage or looking at WWW.FLASHKIT.COM (The specified server could not be found.) then me knows which me would prefer not to see.

    Long Live Flashkit

Even with the ads flashkit runs fast.

anyways does fennel still work on flashkit or has he given the job to you "starkey". Im guessing fennel updates the index page right?

i was gonna have a whinge about how the ad has now moved to the top of the page and how it's like ads everywhere but then i read this thread and i thought of the alternatives..

the ole page cannot be found.. or even worse
'premium subscription' where you gotta pay

as long as this stays free the ads will not bother me!

Sorry mx, I didn't see this question. Internet.com took the management of FK inhouse in January 2002. At that point Mark, turnaround and Internet.com parted ways. That's when I was brought in as webmaster.

Ouch, the ads above the header do make it look pretty bad.

I don't mind the ads, if it means the survival of flashkit

Personally, I think that if it keeps flashkit alive then the ads need to stay. Having said that though, FK eats up a lot of my bandwidth usage for work and I am, for the most part, do not visit here because I use up too much bandwidth (our bandwidth usage is published to the entire company each month and my name is always at the top with FK as the site that used the most).

but sometimes, like today, I come on because I miss this place.

and the fact that Flashkit has helped my company out big time means that I am allowed here - just not all day

    Ads do not bother me

I even click on a few here and there when I visit, just to show my appreciation for the outstanding site that Flashkit is...
