editing software

New to this area of web design. Any quality shareware I can download for free/cheap or do you suggest purchasing a brand name such as Sound Edit.

It all depends on how much editing you'll be doing, if its just a couple of sounds then you would be better off not buying anything fancy. But if you are going to be using/editing alot of sounds for a while then you should purchase something more advanced.

I personally recommend soundforge


If its not really adavnced editing (and the sounds are *.wavs), try something like the sound editor under
start>programs>accessories>entertainment>sound recorder,
