    How much do you think this is worth

    I found this dollar the other day, they must have cut it wrong at the mint it is an extremely extremely rare find, because they throw out all the misprints, and here checked pretty carefully. It is real, I did that marker check thing. I have looked and havnt found anything recent with this big of an error

    It's probably difficult to take a guess, I would say it depends on the size of the batch of mis-cuts, it's it's only a few then I would guess it's probably worth a fair bit, similar (in principle) to the upside down aeroplane stamps.

    I suppose the only real way to find out would be to contact an expert in the field.

    I hate to waz on your parade but you can goto prison for what your doing. Take your chances but there are several reasons why that is a fake. If you dont plan on actually sending this then im sure you could be charged for attemted something.... The Feds take that crap seriously.

    The serial numbers are close but anyone that knows how the serial number works could identify this as a fake. I would be careful in your wording because you could possibly get yourself in trouble.

    You can just buy a sheet from the us treasury. My grandpa has one... you pay face value for it. The treasury does keep a record of serial numbers so they could easily tell if you are cutting em up and trying to pass them as the real thing. (been done thousands of times but the serials always prove the value)

    So how did you just find a dollar like this. I can't see someone just throwing it on the ground and stores wouldn't give it as change. Banks would certainly not hand that out.
