    html in flash

    is there a way to load a simple html file into flash?

    i want a website to appear inside a movie

    Is there any way to accomplish this? I've been searching and I couldn't find anything that remotely hints at the possibility.... unless you build the movies over top of and around an IFRAME ( which only works for IE )...

    But depending on what you want... you might be able to do it using IFRAMES

    Ummmm... yeah that's not really what I think is being asked here... what you just posted is respective of making sure that your flash productions and html productions maintain consitency. The question that was raised was if there is a way to create a flash movie that carries an inherent html file or calls it from another place kind of like frames but in flash

    uhm yeah

    I have been wanting to have pages load in flash ever since my first .swf so I could use it as a background on my desktop for a "custom" browser...

    lemmy know if you get anywhere with this

    You could use a flash background by setting an html page as your background... publish your file in html format...

    Start -> Control Panel -> Display -> Desktop -> Browse... -> Select the html file that contains the embedded swf...

    Well assuming your using Windows 98 or newer... ( Reffered to as the Active Desktop in Win 98 me'thinks )

    uhmmm yeah

    I know you can do that, but my idea was to have that which you described So as the background would have HTML in the .swf that is in the .html on the desktop, are we clearer now?

    I want HTML windows in .swf for the primary reason that I want to view websites through .swf's, the use of this I will not discuss because then someone else would have my job...

    It doesn't seem that anyone has found or if it's even possible... and OLDNEWBIE says it's not possible... two word answers from him make it pretty obvious it's a no go...

    I want to display a list of users gathered from an external website on a .swf file, is this possable?

    Yes, I don't see any reason you couldn't... you can load everything including external data into a flash movie... seriously you can load just about whatever variable you have access to into flash... ( part of why it's so popular, well that and it's damn sexy! )
