How to make a Navigation menu like these?

Hey guys and gals,

I was wonder if someone could give me a suggestion on how to make Navigation menus like the ones on the Town of Westin site by 2 advanced or the Johnmayer.com site.

You should check the movies section, lots of menus there to dissect and learn from.

As you can see from my post I am a newbie. I have completed one Website so far. I did it with swish. I am just moving over to Flash MX
