favoriate designers?
mine are Michael Young, Mike Cina, Yugo Nakamura and Erik Jordan
the work of all has inspired me throughout my design career...
and off all the l33t designers I feel Erik Jordan has been the most succesfull with his company and the commercial work he has created with that distinct 2advanced look.

My favs?
Jozias Dawson - www.otradesign.com
Chris Dick - www.swanyhunting.com - Watch out for this guy
Shane Mielke - www.pixelranger.com
Dashielle Ponce De Leon - www.flashlevel.com
The KNI team - www.kurtnoble.com
Daniel Box - www.db0x.com
Arlo Jamrog - www.twoblocks.com
Peter NRG* - www.ultrashock.com
Will McBee - www.mansauce.com / www.gorillafarm.net / www.fukawlyawl.com
Scott Cook - www.driftlab.com
I consider all of these people friends, either from making their acquaintance here, Moderating at Ultrashock, or just by e-mail.
Peter NRG, an admin and co-founder of Ultrashock, is easily the best Photoshop designer i've ever seen. Don't be thrown off by the 3 year old www.nrg.be site... he is arguably the best designer on the planet.

Do favourite designers come with age or do you have to be more involved in the community? The only designer throughout the entire thread that I know are Jambles, Pixelranger, DigitalOne and Eric Jordan.

Bad Monkey
The Designers Republic
For there Gatecrasher work.

Thanks Gerbs
As for mine, I guess the designers themselves don't tend to mean that much to me in terms of their names but sites that have inspired me in the past include
rayoflight - the old site with the japanese character inspired me for such a long time
praystation - kudos!
republikone (no longer exists but I think that was Yugo + chums)
cubadust - amazing photoshop stuff
gear78 - more amazing photoshop stuff
There are so many really, I don't really use flash these days, I tend to find there's little need for it as I'm trying to focus my energies on getting clients onto content managed sites rather than animations etc.
Current favourites these days tend to be sites belonging to illustrators and photographers rather than designers themselves. I also much prefer a stylish and functional site where colour is cleverly used to complement layout so current faves would be along the lines of
pixelsurgeon's new site
whatdoiknow (Todd Dominey)
zeldman/ala
sites like cyberloft which combine beautiful content with a functional but clean and stylish layout.
Design resource sites like dik, wow-factor, styleboost et al are where I visit more.
For those who don't recognise some of the names in this thread, I would recommend familiarising yourself with their work, a lot of those listed are often at the cutting edge of design and you'll see their work poineering new styles etc so it's good to have a basic idea of who people like Josh Davis, Eric Jordan etc are

yeah, Baron von Berg has been quite busy preparing DesignMarathon 2.0, and some other stuffs. we still talk via IM... often in a weird mix of German/English.
