look at her works !! These are really very very cool !!
I tried to get these/similar kind of abstracty shapes but coldn't get what i want...
Do u know how to do therse kind of shapes ??
I don't think she used the transparency map, it gives more diffused, space-agey results.
Literally in 15 minutes I got the following, starting off with a torus, some modfiers, camera angle. Make sure you export as a TIFF with alpha channel included. I put in the gradient in PS to make it easier to see the structure.
I know it's not much but you can see where this is going With experience and an actual eye for what you are after, you can achieve 10000 times more.
heres the tip...im not expert...but i found a way to get similar results...
start off with a complex shape like a torus not..or a torus.
1. noise/twist/wave/bend/squeeze(modifiers)...anything that will get a wavy airy effect.
2. right click > convert to editable patch
3. right click > subdivide patch (repeat many many times..go crazy)
4. now...right click > extrude patch > now left click on any spot and pull this way and that...(repeat many many times)
5. go to modifiers > mesh smooth > interations-3 smoothness-1
now you shud have the right shape...if you did good on step 4
put a material on it if you want an even cooler look
i tried what you said but they did not give such flower-like (floweristic LoL) effects...
To get the "same" or very very similar shape, what do i need to do ??
The 3d was probobly a shape with noise added to it, maybe she didn't use 3ds max, so there might be a different technique she uses. While the backgrounds are just simply airbrushed. Here's something where I airbrushed the background.

But how did u use the brush tool ?? I cannot get these kind of effects in PS.. Can u teach me how ot tell me where can i find the "exact" tutorial that i am lookin' 4 ??
i can help ya on the photoshop side the airbrush is jsut a brush setting whihc you can tunr on in photoshop. amazing if you ahve a tablet cos you can adjsut opacicity and size with pressure. as for the 3d witmer already gave you a step by step guide on hsi technique.
ps loving your xperience module you seem to ahve mastered 3d quite well so I think your best of developing your own style.
There is no exact tutorial for airbrushing, you just take the airbrush tool and pick a brush, i usually pick the smallest "jaggy" brush, or one of the larger ones. I only use the really soft ones for specific details, as far as the pressure it's usually at 1% to %5.
