atx standard for pc... what about laptop?
I know their is a motherboard size standard for PCs (ATX standard), but what is the standard for laptops?

AFAIK, there is not really a standard. The batteries aren't rated at the same maH. so, it's doubtful that there is an universal connector for power.

I think that the best you could do is to buy more RAM or a bigger hard drive

whatever kind you have in there now. You'll probably be safe with the shorter stick (SO-DIMM), be sure that it's not DDR, I'm guessing that it won't work in that laptop. Take it to a computer store and they should be able to help you out
