can domain and nameserver share the same IP?

i don't know in which forum this questin belongs to. It's fast: i have my own domain, and my own nameservers (both provided by my hosting company).

Now my site (my domain) has the same IP address the is configured for my main Nameserver. is that right? is that possible? no mistakes can happen with that?

I dunno, but my friend hosts himself off his cable internet and his naming servers are like this....

    ns3.hissite.com
    ns4.hissite.com

so i am guessing its possible with the same IP

Yes, it is perfectly ok to do that. Domain and nameserver IPs can share. That is how my site is set up.

You should have two nameserver IPs. You can use one of those IPs for your main account.

Even if you want to add accounts and domains, you can still put them on that same IP.

    www.fusionarena.com
    www.fusionarena.net
    ns1.fusionarena.com

All of those are the exact same IP address.
    ns2.fusionarena.com is a different IP.
