    Site policy for player 7?

    Anyone subscribe to Colin Moock's newsletter?

    /**
    * EMERGENCY: YOUR SITE NEEDS A POLICY FILE NOW!
    */
    If you host Flash content that does any of the following, you need a
    cross-domain policy file on your site immediately:
    * loads XML or variables
    * controls loaded movies
    * connects to an XMLSocket server

    If your site does not have a cross-domain policy file, visitors using Flash
    Player 7 to view your Flash Player 6 format .swfs will now see a security
    alert dialog!

    To create a policy file for your site, follow the steps posted here:
    http://moock.org/asdg/technotes/crossDomainPolicyFiles/

    (Yes, this all applies to every client site you ever delivered.)

    Does that translate to the v7 player can't see v6 content?

    Apparently 7 is a lot stricter with domain policies. 6 would allow any subdomains access, but 7 won't unless you tell it to. It only effects users running the 7 player viewing your content that worked properly in 6.

    ill still be exporting all client work at the flash player version 5 for quite a while longer.

    the foot print for 6 out on the market isnt big enough for me to want to hassle users into downloading to see it, much less version 7 player.
