User Login / Save Progress

I want to create a user login for a web course that I am creating in flash.

The course requires them to answer questions which via text input boxes. These answers will then be passed to a mySQL database via PHP (I also need to figure out how i'm going to do this).

I need the students to be able to save their work so that they can come back to it at another time and carry on with their work. This is why I need a user login.

Does anybody have any suggestions about how I should go about achieving this??
