    actully its not that hard, but it depends where you are coming from.

    It can be rather difficult if you are still learning the modfiers.

    this is just basic geometry, so you would not have to worry about to much modeling.

    Looks to me like they used lofts.

    Lofts are shapes extruded along a path. Once you have created a basic loft, you can use deformations to acheieve the different coil sized and such.

    Look at www.3dcafe.com for tutes on loft.
