anways, the rest was great

for some reason they made the swf movie that big... if you right click on the bottom-right corner it shosw the flash menu. Nice site though!

Harmony & Justice
LoL. That is weird.
They should have turned off the scroll
in the body tag.
Pleasant site nonetheless.

in my opinion, that was extremely average

Great portfolio not so impressive site. What's with the scrollbars?

Yea, I wonder why they did that - just out of curiousity. There has to be a reason, perhaps they didn't erase a stray pixel or something

I dont wanna talk about the site, its a mess but...
I was over at FWA today reading the interviews, and I read that Eric Jordon thinks this studio is one of the three top studios around. You have got to be kidding me EJ!
I bet he chose some random names...

I think he knows what he's talking about, these guys are renown in the industry for their work, they're one of the few larger agencies still around and doing well.
the site is old, made before (the genius) arnaud mercier left the company (probably after ej made that comment). Not sure why they have such a large SWF, it's a flash 6 SWF so they could have utilised the stage object to have the SWF cover the available space without stretching the contents. Odd.
the site is ok, I wouldn't say it's a 'cool site' but it is a good site, I think it shows understanding of design and ability but it doesn't really shine to me.
edit: ignore me getting blast radius and dna studios mixed up, check out www.blastradius.com

Wow. Didn't know that. But its still a messy site.
PS: Hey aversion, just been to your site, nice. But is it a WIP? Barely any content...

I liked the site for about a minute till I realised there was a ton of black and white pages with nothing much going on.
Blast radius makes nice corporate sites though.

... started at DNA (aug '02) - updated the site with a simple clean up, smooth over, bells & whistles allowance ...
appreciate the comments ... have used the stage size property for DNA clients, ie Bacardi Silver 03 (http://www.bacardisilver.com/orange/), and freelance ones, ie Heritage International Holdings Limited (http://www.heritage.com.hk)...
flashpest, the function of the scrollbars is to allow people on smaller resolution screens to view all of the content on the site ...
NANAND78, thanks for your posting mang
peter (http://www.ourcommon.com/) provided the photos for the landing page
jensy (http://www.chapter3.net/) provided the icon photos on the interior pages and hooked up the html for the news popups
bob (http://www.hakotranzito.com/) created the sound
bubbles (http://www.bubblebathgirl.com) did the flash/cleaning

I like how the sound controls were done. Very clever.

Eric Jordon thinks this studio is one of the three top
I can see why they are. That site sells the company, jump into the customer's shoes:
You're an exec for a large company, looking at developers/designers and such, someone qualified to crank your net image pretty high, someone worth the million or so you're ready to spend on it.
When you get to this DNA site, you find someone who actually understands marketing, not just design. You notice the copy is top notch, and they're mostly talking about your company, not theirs. Browsing around is intuitive and cozy. Even though there's a ton of content, it's all straight useful info, presented in a fashion appropriate for me to view in my office (white lined "paper", smooth transitions, nice little eye-candy touches that don't scream at me).
Their header blurb:
Respect the client. (Yay, you're talking about me!)
Respect the brand. (Cool, I live, luv and bleed for the brand, someone else who cares!)
RESPECT THE AUDIENCE. (Customer-focused, with no internet cheap-shots soiling my brand, good!)
Just the header alone tells me they understand my business. After reading a handful of pages, I not only know what they can do for me, but how they'll do it. The mechanics are right there, right up front.
Then you visit Blast Radius.
Their header:
Business Solutions designed to increase customer value. (Great, more "Solutions" my fave buzzword. Everybody's got one, they're like assh....)
Technology is our tool. (Means nothing to me, except that you own computers and stuff)
Your bottom line is our focus.(OK, that's good, me too!)
More browsing thru Blast Radius, all I see is "US, We, Blast Radius Blast Radius Blast Radius". Lots of buzzwords like "seamless integration" and "Return on (insert buzzword here)" with no meat behind them, I really don't know what these guys do to make things happen. They rarely spoke to me. The graphics drove the eye from the content, not to it. Are you really bringing me an html presentation of your company, at my level? My worker bees do better with Powerpoint. I do know it was a more annoying browse than the last guys, those DNA guys. Damn that DNA site was smooth-smooth-smooth.
In comparison, it's an easy choice, and a very cool site.
