    It depends on what field you're interested in, there isn't really anywhere that's a famous 'design' university, they all have reputations in their specialist field.

    There are quite a few in the UK, I don't really know about the rest of Europe.
    These are all as far as I know...

    The London Institute: Central London,
    • London College of Fashion: very good reputation in Fashion
    • London College of Printing; very good reputation in Print, Graphic Design etc.

    Central St Martins: Central London, very good reputation in Art, Fashion, Graphic Design, Product Design etc. Not really known for it's Interaction Design

    Glasgow School of Art (GSA): Central Glasgow, very good reputation in Art, Fashion, Graphic Design Not really known for it's Interaction Design

    Loughborough University: Leicester, very good reputation in Product Design.

    UCL (University College London):
    Central London,
    • Bartlett School of Architecture;
      very good reputation in Architecture
    • Slade School of Art;
      very good reputation in Art

    Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication: Outer London, very good reputation in Broadcasting, Fashion, Graphic Design.
    The Interaction Design course there is good (I'm on it...), but it's not what you'd expect really. Generally, though there are projects and such, you are entirely left to your own devices; if you don't know what to do with your time, you'll find yourself doing nothing.
    This is good and bad; good in that you can build the craziest projects you can think of and get full support from the tutors, bad in that if you can't think of crazy projects that interest you, you're scupperd.
    This will change, (we in the final year are working on it) but then you never can tell with these things.

    huge thanks

    Thanks alot for the info SJT, the Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication (hehe, the on you're in) sounds challenging based on what you stated. I have a strong interest in broadcast.
    I'll check out their website and look for their tuition prices as well as scholarship programmes, etc.

    Either way I'll check out the other ones too. It'd be cool to study anywhere in the Uk.

    Thanks man.
