Is screen resolutioin an Issue in play back speed?

I'm creating a .swf using flash.
The resolution of the file is 768 X 1280. (that is the size of the plasma screen I'm wanting it to run on)

I'm running it on a large screen(flat panel plasma screen). When it runs on the large screen, it runs very slow. When I run it on my desktop pc (17" or 19" monitor), it runs fine. (seems to anyway)

Is there a way I can get around this and optimize files to run quickly and smoothly on larger display screens with a very high resolution?

Thanks for any tips in advance.

Are you viewing through a browser or as a standalone?

Not sure that's an issue. To answer your question it shouldn't matter - but I have noticed the same problem with QT movies so it could be a similar quirk.
