    Work experince?

    Hi
I am current in year 10 and doing VCE (year 11) next year. We will have a work experince placement next year in June.
Are there any design/flash website companies in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia that offers that?

    Thanks
    Tech.Nika

work experience is a good way to try out the industry, I wish I had some idea what I wanted to do when I was that age.

A word of advice though, if you're going to be contacting companies direct, make sure you know how to spell EXPERIENCE :-)

I'm in UK so I won't be much use. I'm sure I've seen a number of threads about your area though so try doing a search of these forums.

    Just a bit of Advice....
Your work experience won't be handed to you on a plate. It's fine to post a post such as this one here, But you should also be surfing around, or phoning up your nearby companies to get some. It sure isn't easy but if you're a bit pushie and have bag loadsa confidence you should be ok. Plus this gives a good impression-determination and all

i have looked and looked in newspapers, the net, and everywhere, but i cant find those companies or they just dont exist. I have seen xm2 offer work exp, but they are for year 12 and above.

The thing is, when I did mine, I realised one important thing...COMPANIES NEVER EVER SPELL OUT THE FACT THAT THEY DO WORK EXPERIENCE. Sorry for the caps but I've had to tell so many people that! The only way to get the work experience is to perster them about it, therefore even if they aren't even in the habit of offering it, they may take you on anyway. Looking around doesn't cut it, you gotta go out and make the chance yourself, in this biz anyways. I would really suggest you ring up these companies/ or at least write them letters asking about it, and telling them ur skills or whatever, plans for the future etc.
Plus, this other company that you mention xm2, well you say they offer wk exp for year 12 or above, but take the initiative and call them telling them ur really keen and you know ur a bit young but you love this stuff etc etc. They might be impressed by your enthusiasm and determination and take you on, even if you are a year or so lower than what they want usually. Remember, rules are there to be broken, half the time these guys wantt you to break the rules because then they know you are an original thinker.
    Hope this helps

he is - man if you get work experience with him, your one lucky guy.

I'm going to be looking for an internship or possibly a job in this kind of industry very soon, I'm about 3 days from finishing year 12.

    good luck
