Playback is greatly improved, the bandwidth overload issue has been resolved (caused by movies continuing to download after canceled), and you can now stream .flv directly.

No, I don't expect that this will be something available for quite some time. It's just not in the codec.

thanks Wheels, one more question. There seemed to be some problems with video and sound sync in long form video with Flash 6. Was this just a problem with the Flash MX video encoder, and are there any improvements here as well?

    thanks Wheels, one more question/topic.

There seemed to be some problems with video and sound sync in long form video with Flash 6. Was this just a problem with the Flash MX video encoder, because it seems that folks could get better sync out of Flix/Sorrenson?

Are there any improvements in Flash 7 and Flash MX 2004 for sound/video sync?

Check this out - it's the white paper for video in 2004:

    http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/mx/.../flash_flv.pdf

One of the interesting things discussed is how the sound sync can be affected by differences in source frame rate and converted frame rate.

The best piece of information in the paper is about how it is best to export from your video suite to exact pixel dimensions and frame rate before encoding (or while encoding) to Flash video.

It covers sound sync in 6 as well.
