Whaat should I use to get rid of the background in my video?

I'm going to be taking video footage with blue background.
I want to get rid of the background and just have a plain white one.

    What software should I use?
Are there any free one that I could use?
If not, what are the best alternatives I can buy?
How easy is it to do what I want?

    Thanks.

Depends what you doing. If you're going to QT you may be able to eliminate that channel with the color deselector.

If it's going to Flash, your best bet is one of the better video editing suites (which are not free).

I would try the QT Pro method and export from QT as a series of .png's (keep the frame rate low like 6-10) and import and republish in Flash.

you can use a color key effect in adobe after effects. It simple, you just pick the color from your clip and setup the tolerance and feather and stuff and for the area to be transparent. Then you can add a solid bg color in a layer behind it.

Yea After Effects is a cool program you can do lots of effects to your videos without having to learn a bunch of scripts. You'll need a video card on your computer that will allow you to do video capturing.

If your a student somewhere and have a student ID you can buy the full version software at http://www.journeyed.com and safe loads of doe. I think they sell hareware too, but not sure tho.
