    i'm out of it today!

    working on a portfolio site. I have buttons generated from xml and a masked sliding movie clip (also xml gen). an array sets the "jumpto" positions in frame 1.
    here's what i have on my buttonGen clip:
    function buttonGen() {
    for (var i = 0; i<obj_xml.length; i++) {
    this.attachMovie("button", "button"+i, i);
    this["button" + i]._x = this["button" + i]._width * i;
    this["button" + i]._y = 0;
    this["button" + i].jumpto_number = i;
    }
    }

    on the buttons, i have this:

    on (release) {
    _root.jumpTo("jumpto_number");
    }

    It only takes me to jumpTO position 1. I know I have it wrong.

    Normally, I would just say _root.jumpTo(1); and it would take from my array and go. But, I'm trying the dynmaic route (UNSUCCESSFULLY)!
    Please help. TIA. It'd be nice too if I could generate my array based on the number of nodes.

    Take out the quotes in your button code:

    on (release) {
    _root.jumpTo(jumpto_number);
    }

    and see how that works for ya.

    Good Luck!
