CD-ROM w/ embedded video and interactive elements

I am currently creating a flash based training CD-ROM and i am having trouble.

I need the video imported into flash to run and then go to a interactive animated sequence. then go back to a video file and then again back to an animated sequence.

The video files are way to big and publishing and playback are killing me.

Is there a way to either keep the videos external in either .mpeg or .mov format and specify the .swf to call to them?

Or is there a way to compress these movies and have them play without looking like crap? The total video segment is 13 minutes, sliced into 7 sections.

    Hi.
You can link to an external .mov file - but then the viewer needs to have the quicktime player installed to view the video.
You can also load external .swf files from a projector - then the viewer doesn't need any player.
    A 13 minute video broken into 7 parts (7 2 minute videos?) shouldn't be a problem.
