it depends what version of photoshop u are running

the older versions 3, 4 and i think 5 had a folder called "plugins"

the newer versions 5.5 onward have a folder called "plug-ins"

basicly they need to go in there

if u are running an install program it will ask where u want them putting

on a PC it will be something like this

    C: > Program files > Adobe > photoshop 5.5 > plug-Ins

on a mac u need to find where u installed it to, then find the plugins folder

Personally I made another folder inside the default Plug-ins folder called ExtraFilters and I have placed all my third-party filters in there. You can then go to Edit>Preferences>Plug-ins & Scratch Disks and in there you can specify another folder for Photoshop to search for plugins. I point this towards my ExtraFilters folder and everything works great while allowing me to keep my third-party filters separate from the default ones. It's just easier for me to keep track of things that way. If you place them in the default Plug-ins folder as BP suggested it will work fine, too.

Here's a tip for the future...if you hit that little Windows button and 'F' on the keyboard (on PC's, of course...not Macs) it will bring up the Find Files and Folders dialogue. If you type an "*" asterisk and a file extension it will search for every file on your machine with that extension. Make sure you use the advanced options with the 'search subfolders' option checked. You can then see where in the program hierarchy a certain type of file is supposed to live.

I'm not sure if there are too many out yet that have been made specifically for PS7. Here are some links that you may already be aware of, but it's one of the most comprehensive sources I have found linking to Photoshop plugins.

Here are some links for plug-ins. The majority of the plug-ins for the first link I believe give you a trial period but I don't believe there too pricey. Some might be freeware or shareware others have trial periods.
