Extreme performance differences - how to solve?

    Hiyah fellow,

Weeks ago, I've programmed an actionscript generating a very realistic Matrix Code. That was on a AMD Athlon 750 MHz. I had to use some tricks to boost the performance. I think, I made it, and the code flew wonderful and in a good speed over my screen.

Since saturday, I have a new PC, P4 2600 Mhz and stuff, and I testet the Matrix code again, and it went extremely good, to good for my taste, the code gathered a to fast speed.

    My question to you all:

How can I programm a code, that works on all computers with the same speed?
Any detection scripts available or something?
