Masking, can we get alpha below 100?

    Hi,

Ive noticed when working on masks, that even though u set a mask alpha to below 100%, it still shows through at 100%

Is there any way to mask an object with varying alpha?

    Cheerz,
    Dwayne

    Try the link below

Im workign on an effect, wanna make it like the star wars one, but I need to make the edge of the exposed picture faded out as it rotates.

U'll know wat I mean when u look at the swf.
It looks too harsh at the moment, if I could fade it in I bet it would look topps!

I think I see. You want the fisrt picture to fade out while it is rotating out?

    have a look now

    http://www.gianteraser.orcon.net.nz/circle.htm

See the pic on the right, it shows the picture slightly exposed, but the edge is faded in. Thats wat I want to do to the mask, so that the edge is smoother, not such a sharp contrast between orginal pic and new pic.
