    Importing SWF

    Hi All!

I'm trying to import a swf file (which is an animation with sound) into another FLA, but everytime I import it I lose the sound.

Why would this be? Can I fix it?

    Thanks!

Don't import it, but load it in a container clip or on another level.

    Hi!

I have a SWF (animated character who speaks) that I have to put directly into a new FLA. When I import it, I loose the sound.

I don't have the original FLA of the animated character, or the original sound clip.

Is there any way to get the sound?

    Any thoughts would be great!!

    Thanks

it helps if you make sure the framerates in both the charactor animation and your fla are the same...i made a media player and forgot to do that, and I had the same problem.

Also, if the sound for the charactor wasn't embedded in the swf, that could also pose a problem

Is the .swf on your harddrive?
If it is, does the sound play when you run the .swf?
If it does, then the sound is probably embedded in the .swf.
    If not... ouch.

    As for the framerates...
    Is it your .swf?
Do you remember the framerate you used?
If not you might have to experiment with different framerates.
Try the common ones, like 12,15,20,24,25,26,30,40...

Oldnewbie already told you how to load it into your new movie.
Here is a tute from Iaskwhy that explains loading a .swf into an empty movieclip in your main movie:

Hope this helps you as much as it helped me.
