    Lightbulb The Mega Challenge!

Is there a way to get the password? Use any means necessary to obtain it.

(This is my own website. If you need proof, don't hesitate to ask.)

Email me if you find it.

If you can break in, you win!
...but if you can't, you lose...

    Go for it.
    Absolutely Brilliant!

See if this were your own website, you would be able to get into the SWF file and change the attributes.. i doubt your honesty. What kind of password is fishrock? lol

    excellent!

the point is not to show me what the word is, the point is how you got it.

    (hence, i changed the word)

ya gotta tell me how you did it.

sounds to me he wins the contest. sorta like a game of poker, how about telling the young man what he won.

    then he'll tell you perhaps?

but I'll be honest. I don't see how this fits into the Arena.

    isn't retrieving the password simple?
    I mean, if you have a flash-editor...
You can just insert the flash-file, search through the codes and find the password...?

moved this from the Arena. this has been done in the past, elsewhere.

anyway, it still lives, but here in the Coffee Lounge. maybe somebody will chat about this one here instead.

    good luck.

Dude, did you use a decompiler? That's pretty impressive.
The other day, I bought a box of animal crackers. On the side, it said "Do Not Eat if Seal is Broken". I opened the box and sure enough...

    Impressive? More like -ive.

I didnt even have to pull out my 1337 hacking skills(disclaimer: I never use them to steal work or other swfs! NEVER!) to figure those two out. No lexical obfuscation, no flasm - phhh - pathetic

Now give flasher his prize. And it better not be a cookie...

I myself hope its a surgery.

But if you want to see some real magic lads - find xmcnuggetx over at games. He'll crack anything that can be cracked.

He pulls the variables out of the ram, that bastard.

I'd bet someone with a F5 player could just right click and press "play" to bypass the password... assuming he had not fail-safed it..

    Sheesh...

Well I APOLOGIZE for being so wow'ed at the ability to pull a password out of a swf without a decompiler or other means.

    Genesis-
    if you use
    code:
    Stage.showMenu=false;

That play will be disabled, and if you are publishing stuff that deserves to be password protected, you should have this in your movie.
